A GUIDE TO LUXURY YACHT CHARTER

Fraser has put together a beautiful brochure which explains everything you need to know about the world of luxury charter.  It is a handy guide with information on the process of chartering in addition to destination inspiration. You can read this online by clicking the following link: Introduction to Charter.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY YACHT CHARTER?

We suggest that you book your yacht charter at least six months in advance in order to be sure of getting your preferred yacht and dates. However, bear in mind that some of the most popular yachts can be fully booked up to a year in advance. It is also worth thinking about whether you are chartering around an event or not, as this can affect availability too.

WHAT CAN WE DO ASHORE?

Whether you prefer diving colourful reefs or lounging on a white sand beach; dining on five-star cuisine or a beach BBQ; strolling between shops or quaint fishing villages, we’ll arrange unique experiences for you.  There is also an endless array of special events to plan your holiday around when organising your private yacht charter: Sydney Vivid Festival, Hamilton Island Race Week, Australia Day and the prestigious America’s Cup; the possibilities are endless and no request is unthinkable.

WHAT CAN WE DO ON BOARD THE YACHT?

Relax and enjoy yourself while the crew tends to your every whim. All yachts offer a range of facilities such as toys for fun on and under the water, plenty of sun-bathing options or movies to watch and fine dining from your personal chef. Some yachts may also have spa facilities or a yoga instructor on board, and of course you can always go ashore just as you would on a normal holiday. Whatever you desire we’ll arrange a unique experience for you.

WHICH REGIONS OF THE WORLD CAN WE EXPLORE ON A YACHT CHARTER?

From Antibes to Zanzibar and everywhere in between, our brokers travel extensively to seek out the most captivating and enchanting sailing destinations for your holiday. From charming New England to the exotic South Pacific, together, we’ll select your own stunning backdrop, whether it’s the spectacular Seychelles archipelago with romantic bays or the sophisticated and star-studded coastline of the Cote d’Azur. Our yachts are spread far and wide around the globe allowing you to explore a wide variety of cruising destinations.

HOW LONG IS A YACHT CHARTER?

A standard yacht charter is normally seven full days, so if you board at 3pm on a Saturday you can stay until 3pm the following Saturday. Charterers may choose to book the yacht for a longer or shorter period, although some yachts will not accept shorter bookings during the peak season. Day charters are also possible in certain locations, but your broker will be happy to advise as, of course, this can vary by yacht, region and season.

WHAT ROLE WILL THE CREW PLAY ON A CHARTER YACHT?

The professional crew will offer you top-class personal service around the clock. They’re at your disposal and ready to serve from the moment you board. Your Captain will suggest an itinerary, but you’re not locked into any program. If you find the perfect spot, opt to linger longer! Your chef will provide a sample menu of the yacht’s cuisine and will be delighted to adjust their fare to your palate. The crew members will be experienced at entertaining yacht owners and guests, including celebrities and prominent statesmen. If desired, our charter brokers can include a non-disclosure clause in your yacht charter contract.

CAN WE MAKE PHONE CALLS AND RECEIVE EMAILS ON BOARD A SUPERYACHT?

Don’t be worried about staying in touch with your business, family and friends. Many of the modern motor and sailing yachts for charter are equipped with the very latest state-of-the-art technology and communications equipment including cellular service, global satellite telecommunications and personal computers. Off course, if you want to completely switch off, that is possible too!

WHAT IS AN APA?

Whilst the charter price includes the cost of chartering the yacht, the crew and the yacht’s insurance, other items such as fuel, dockage, food and beverages are paid separately by the charterer through the Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA). This is normally estimated at an additional 20-30% of the charter rate. All expenses are accounted for by the Captain and if, at the end of the charter, there are any unused funds they will be returned to the charterer.

HOW MUCH TAX (GST/VAT) WILL I PAY ON A YACHT CHARTER?

Each country has its own tax policy and the rate can vary widely throughout the world. However our highly experienced charter brokers keep up to date with all the latest policies and will be able to advise you at the time of booking.
